Conservation Areas
Conservation Areas are areas of special architectural and/or historic interest, the character or appearance of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance.
Dundee City Council decides which parts of the City are worthy of protection for their special character as Conservation Areas, to designate such areas and ensure their future management.
Within conservation areas all development proposals will be expected to preserve
or enhance the character of the surrounding area. This will require the retention of
all features that contribute to the character and appearance of the conservation area.
